How Cat-e-Corner Raised $202,756 to Protect Sofas from Our Feline Friends

Meet Jeremy – the creator of Cat-e-Corner.

Jeremy loves cats.

He also loves his furniture not getting destroyed.

“Is it possible to create a piece of furniture that BOTH cats and cat owners would adore?” He asked himself.

Well, when he looked online, the options were limited.

He couldn’t believe it.

With an engineering background, he decided to solve the problem himself.

Jeremy took his idea from the drawing board to his computer, and then to his workshop.

After countless hours and numerous prototypes, Cat-e-Corner was born: a cat scratcher side table that marries function with style.

The result?

$111,035 raised on the first day, culminating in $202,756 by the end of the campaign.

This wouldn’t have been possible without a well-executed pre-launch marketing strategy.

Let’s dive into what that was.

Cat-e-Corner’s pre-launch marketing strategy

Making over $202,756 in 30 days is no easy task.

And hitting that milestone takes a combination of different marketing tactics, with the most important marketing tactic being the pre-launch.

More specifically, building an email list of real buyers before you launch your campaign.

The best way to do that is by using LaunchBoom’s Reservation Funnel System.

Here’s how it worked.

1. Cat-e-Corner drove traffic with Meta Ads

Meta ads are the first step to build a pre-launch email list. This is how Cat-e-Corner drove traffic. They tested many different variations of copy and imagery, but here was their best performing ad.

Here are the metrics for this ad:

  • Click through rate: 3.64%
  • Cost per lead: $1.21
  • Cost per reservation: $13.43

2. Cat-e-Corner collected email addresses on a landing page

The landing page is where they explained their product and collected email addresses. The landing page looked like this:

3. Cat-e-Corner collected $1 reservations

This is the most important step and why we call this funnel the Reservation Funnel. Cat-e-Corner had this VIP offer for putting down a $1 reservation:

  • A guaranteed 40% discount
  • An invite to their VIP Facebook group

The most important thing to know is that people who put down the reservation were way more likely to buy (30 times on average, in fact).


Cat-e-Corner got funded on day one

Leading into the launch, Jeremy had 1,112 people who had put down a $1 reservation deposit. Remember, there’s no better predictor of launch success than the reservations.

And just like we thought, their launch was a success.

On the first day, they made $111,035.

By the end of the campaign, they had driven $202,756 in revenue from 595 new customers.

But most important of all, they had a 5.85x return on pre-launch ad spend.
